Overview
The MK3 Focus RS Owners Club is a community-driven platform for enthusiasts of the Ford Focus RS MK3. The club's website, built on WordPress, faced challenges with high hosting costs, performance issues and a large amount of spam submissions. We were engaged to re-host the site and optimise its performance, resulting in significant cost savings, improved user experience and eliminating all of the spam submissions that were previously overwhelming the site.
The Solution
We re-hosted the WordPress site onto a self managed dedicated server, which allowed us to have full control over the environment to optimise it for performance. Whilst benefitting from significantly reduced hosting costs. We implemented FPC caching strategies, optimised the database, and configured a external WAF, along with application level security measures to block spam submissions.
